Is Watching Videos at Work a Justifiable Reason for Immediate Termination?

Hi,

My colleague has been terminated because she was watching videos on her mobile during working hours. Is this a serious enough reason for immediate termination? Please guide me on the procedure to follow in this case.

It depends on the company policy, but to be justifiable, the employee should be given an opportunity to be heard. Dismissal from service without even asking for an explanation is bad in law.

There might be other reasons of which you are not fully aware. Refer to your company policies and talk to your HR; by doing so, you will also become aware of certain things.
