The more you use your leaves the more it deducts - Is it followed in other organisations too?

So, we have got these new policy in my organisation..! Till 2019..! We use to get 30 leaves in a year. i.e. 2.5 leaves/month.
At the end of every month, 2.5 leaves were added to our account. This was simple and eazy to understand for every employees.
From 2020, leaves will added to account on pro-rata basis.!!!
30 leaves in a year (same as 2019) i.e. 2.5 leaves/month. i.e. 0.08 leaves / day.
Now, if you take 1 day leave in a month, as per pro-rata basis instead of 2.5 leaves, you will get 2.42 (2.5-0.08) leaves.
If taken 2 days leave in a month, you will get 2.34 leaves.
Hope, you guys understand what I am trying to say.
I shared this because I found this something new. Is it followed in other organisations too?

Hi, I assume it is not followed by companies.
Technically even if you take 2 days leave, 0.08 leaves needs to be added because taken leaves are from your paid leaves.
Reason for doing so could be any, try to get it clear from your company HR, you may get clear idea and reason behind changing the policy.

Hi.. Thanks for the response.
I guess.. this is something new which is followed in my company.
Last month, I took 3 leaves. So instead of adding 2.5 leaves, I got 2.26 {2.5 - (0.08*3)}.

Talk to your HR and make them understand that for paid leave, leaves should be added.
If it is unpaid leave, then calculation can be done in the way they are doing it.
