Where Should We Pay Company Professional Tax for Our Branches Across India?

We have our registered office in Gujarat and have 220 branches all over India. Please tell me where I have to pay company professional tax. Is there any written evidence? Please advise.

To pay the Professional Tax, you need to register with the professional tax register first. For this, you need to submit some documents which are attached with this mail. The company has to pay Rs. 2500 per year. Each director of the company has to pay Rs. 2500 per year (from company incorporation). For employees, you need to deduct the salary according to the slab below:

- Rs. 5000-Rs. 6000 -- Rs. 60/-
- Rs. 6001-Rs. 10,000 -- Rs. 80/-
- Rs. 10,001-Rs. 15,000 -- Rs. 100/-
- Rs. 15,001-Rs. 20,000 -- Rs. 150/-
- Rs. 20,000 above -- Rs. 200/-

You have to bifurcate all the branches according to the concerned state and deduct the P.T according to the state-wise regulations, remitting the amount to the respective states.
