PF Contribution Error: How Can I Correct a Six-Month UAN Mix-Up with the PF Office?

abhishek-bajpai1
I provide manpower to various PSUs. While uploading the PF ECR, the entire contribution of a particular employee was credited to the wrong UAN for a period of six months. The employee who received the credit had left the company. Is there a process to request the PF office to transfer the amount from the incorrect PF UAN to the correct UAN? Please advise.

Dear Friend,

This is a very big mistake. For this, you need to write a letter on your company letterhead to the PF Commissioner. In the letter, you must include the numbers and details of both employees, along with separate personal letters from each employee. Also, remember to attach the KYC documents.

Thanks & Regards,

Subject: One employee's PF amount deposited erroneously to a left employee's PF account

Dear Sir, we would like to draw your kind attention to the subject matter. Subsequent to the annual reconciliation in the company, we have found that one of our employee's PF contributions from both sides was not deposited in his own PF account. It has been noticed that his PF contribution was erroneously deposited into another employee's PF account from 2020 to 2020.

The mistake occurred due to confusion between the employee's employment code number and his PF account number. The second employee has also left the organization long ago.

Please find the correct details of the employee:
Correct Name: ___________________
Correct Date of Joining: _______________
Correct PF account No. DS/NHP/000000/000/0000
Wrong PF account No. DS/NHP/00000/000/0000

The copies of the Electronic Cum Return sheet from 2014 to 2014 are enclosed for your further verification. You are requested to support and update the record with you or else please advise on any further approvals.

Best Regards,
