Understanding PF and ESI Deductions: Do They Double After a Month's Leave?

pretty-woman
My gross salary is $12,000. My take-home pay is $11,310. The deductions for PF and ESI amount to $690. In November, I took a one-month leave. Subsequently, my salary for the following month was $10,620, with double the deductions for PF and ESI, reducing it to $10,620 (from $11,310 after deducting $690).

Do the PF and ESI deductions from the previous month also apply to the next month's salary, in addition to the regular deductions for that particular month?

Hi,

If you were on approved leave with sufficient leave balance, then you will be eligible for a full month's salary with statutory deductions in the same month. If you were on leave without pay, then you will not be eligible for salary and statutory deductions for that particular month. However, starting from the subsequent month, PF will be deducted once you report back.
