Am I Eligible for Gratuity After Shifting Through Multiple Payrolls? Seeking Clarification

Mayur Ghanchi
Hi, my name is Mayur, and I worked with XXX as a Control Centre Incharge. I joined this organization on 08-05-2013. At that time, the company was handling the XXX project, and YYY had given the contract to ZZZ for manpower. The contract was closed at the end of 2014, and it was then given to AAA by YYY. Subsequently, I have been on AAA's payroll. However, at the end of 2016, YYY's contract with XXX was terminated and given to DDD. DDD then subcontracted the manpower contract to AAA, resulting in us being on AAA's payroll. On 15-08-2018, AAA's contract ended, and DDD passed this contract to CCC. Until April 2019, I worked on the payroll of CCC. I am now seeking clarification on my eligibility for gratuity. If I am not eligible, please provide me with further details.

My understanding is as follows. Please correct me if I am wrong. You were initially with Jay IT Management from 08-05-2013 to the end of 2014. From the beginning of 2015 to 15-08-2018, you were with AGC, and then from 16-08-2018 to April 2019, you worked with Kavach Security. If the details are correct here, where you have been on the payroll of three different companies, then it seems there would be no eligibility for gratuity payment, as the criterion, from what I recall, is approximately four years and 240 calendar days for a six-day workweek organization.

Ok, thanks, sir. I just wanted to ask one question: will the payroll company consider gratuity, or the parent company?
