Can We Adjust Our Salary Structure Mid-Year to Lower Basic Percentage from 60% to 50%?

Hello everyone,

We started our PF processing in the month of April 2019. Our basic percentage is 60% of the Gross. Is it possible to change the salary structure this month to have a basic percentage of 50%?

So long as:

1) there is no 'minimum wages' consequences;
2) there is no reduction in overall gross salary;
3) modification of this policy is properly communicated and acceptance of all employees is obtained;
4) if it doesn't aim at reducing the contributions to EPF funds, the proposed action can be carried out.
