Stuck with PF Transfer Due to Wrong Exit Date: How Can I Fix This Issue?

sreenivas-rachamalla
I was working in Hyderabad, in a company where PF was credited to my account every month from 15/04/2015 to 18/06/2019. I then joined a new company in Bangalore on 24/06/2019. After 3 months, I asked the previous company to update the DATE OF EXIT. They updated the below date, which I never thought would be a problem:

DOE EPF Issue

DOE EPF: 18/10/2019

Some PF amount was credited to my PF account after I exited from the previous company, specifically in October (please find the attached file). Now, when I am transferring my PF, I am encountering the following error: "Details of Previous Account are Different than Present Account During PF Transfer."

EPF Grievance Response

I raised an EPF GRIEVANCE online, and they replied as follows: "The Date of Leaving in the previous account number 26228/1455 is 18/10/2019, and the DOJ in the present account number date is 24/06/2019. Please check the details and correct accordingly."

When I contacted the previous company, they are not helping to solve my problem. They mentioned that my data is not available because I left the company.

Can anybody tell me how I could solve this issue?

Steps to Ensure Successful PF Transfer

First, ensure you have a UAN number. Then, ensure that your employer contributed regularly from the very first month of joining. Ensure you have registered a mobile number to your UAN account. Ensure you have fulfilled all your KYC at both employers. Ensure that you are exited by your previous employer. Ensure your new employer or you request claim transfer at the new employer.

Digital Signing and Claim Transfer Approval

Ensure if you opted for digital signing by the previous employer for the approval of claim transfer, then check that they approve your claim transfer. If your previous employer has exited you before the submission of claim transfer, then you have to put in a claim transfer through your UAN portal or through the new employer.

Among all the above, it seems that your previous employer has exited you, and they have not approved the claim transfer status under the services tag.
