Facing Unjust Job Termination: How Should I Respond to a Show Cause Notice?

Shah priti
I am working with a reputed branded franchise store in Ahmedabad. I have been working for 14 years and currently hold the position of store manager. My basic salary is 59,400 Rs and my gross salary is 99,000 Rs. Last month, my owner suddenly called me to inform me that starting tomorrow, I am not to report to work and that I should resign without giving any reason, demanding my resignation.

I refused their demand and made it clear that I will not resign without providing a reason for leaving the job. After 15 days, I received a show cause notice along with a pending inquiry suspicion letter as per the model standing order from the company's side.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what I should do and how I should respond to this notice.

Responding to a Show-Cause Notice

You may submit your written explanation or reply to the charges or acts of misconduct "alleged" against you in the Show-Cause Notice or Charge-Sheet issued to you. Ensure that you address all the allegations leveled against you and participate in the inquiry proceedings as soon as you receive intimation to attend or participate in the inquiry proceedings scheduled by the Inquiry Officer or the Inquiry Committee.

During the inquiry proceedings, which must be held in accordance with the principles of Natural Justice and the procedures laid down for such domestic or internal inquiry, carefully "present your case" for truth shall always prevail, "Satyameva Jayate." No employer or inquiry officer or committee can take the risk of being or remaining arbitrary.

Can you post the SCN for the information of the HR team in this forum? A proper remedial action could be suggested only after reading the contents of the SCN issued to you.
