What is the process to change an employee's name after marriage, especially in the EPF & ESIC departments?

First, you should swear an affidavit before a Notary and get it attested by him. Give a public notice in a popular newspaper - one in English and one in vernacular - notifying the change of name. Submit copies of these to your employer, together with the amended Aadhaar, PAN, Ration cards, Voter ID. Get them verified by HR and request them to make the changes in service records and nominations as well.

Simultaneously, using these documents, get the amendment in Bank accounts, passport, driver's license, rent agreement, and employee ID as well.

Dear Sir/Madam, Can someone tell me how I can change the names of a few employees working in our organization? There are mistakes in their spelling that need to be corrected. I have tried to do this after logging into the ESIC website, but I am only able to edit the name field. Please help if possible and provide me with a solution.

First of all, update your Aadhar with the correct details and update other IDs based on Aadhar.

For ESIC: Make an affidavit with a notary regarding corrections in the name. Prepare a letter on letterhead and send it to the ESI Branch office with supporting documents like Aadhar and others.

For EPFO: Raise an online Basic Detail correction based on your updated Aadhar and get it approved by the employer.
