Central Govt. Employee. Can I avail LTC facility from my department for me & my wife?

My wife is working in IT company (HYD) and getting LTA in salary head every month (She has not availed any tax exemption).
I am a Central Govt. Employee. Can I avail LTC facility from my department for me & my wife?
Shall I have to inform my department as my wife is getting LTA?
