Different Joining Dates for ESIC and EPF: Will This Cause Problems and How to Fix It?

Sneha_Maniyar
An employee joined in the month of October. The employee's PF registration has been successfully completed. However, I forgot to register the employee under the ESIC due to some other work. Now, when I am registering the employee details on ESIC, the joining date is not the same as in EPF.

So, my question is, will there be an issue with different joining dates? If yes, can you please guide me on how to sort out this issue. A prompt reply will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

You can register for both PF and ESI on different dates, but the date of joining should be the same for both registrations.

As per the new guidelines from ESIC, the employer should register the IP within 10 days of their joining date. If you have not registered the IP within 10 days, you must seek approval from RO/SRO with a genuine reason. Only after receiving approval, you will be able to register the IP with the correct date.
