National Holidays for Piece-Rate Workers in Garments: Is It Really Mandatory?

I am Radhey Shyam working in the Garments Industry. Sir, is it mandatory to give a national holiday to piece-rate employees, even though no employees come to the factory on a national holiday? Please advise.

Garments Industry is generally covered under the Factories Act. If 10 or more workmen are working with the aid of power (such as a tailoring machine) and producing garments, then it is covered under the Factories Act. National and Festival holidays, as approved by the Inspector of Factories, have to be complied with.
