Dear Shraddha ,
kindly refer to the Maternity act amendment 2017. yes it is mandatory for every employer .
specially working in a startup to avoid negative markings during auditing and due diligence.
you have to maintain a muster roll for all the female employee on a monthly basis and have to draft a policy which is fully complianced. if you want i can help you with the maternity policy ... kindly revert back .

Start ups have no exemption from labour laws.You read MB Act 1961 and follow it .
