Is It Fair to Offer Work from Home Instead of Holidays Due to Religious Differences?

Ateeq1979
I am working as a Senior BD. During Dussehra Holidays, my boss has given me the WFH option instead of giving me holidays like other employees since I am a Muslim. How fair is this? Is this acceptable or not?

Hi,

Before jumping to any conclusions, it is better to wait and see if he behaves the same during your festive days. You may address the issue by talking to him directly at that point instead of making assumptions and lodging a complaint at this stage.

Dear friend,

Many establishments are following community-based festival holiday systems to appease all sects of religion. All sects' employees are being given 3-4 festivals as per the norms of the state government. So, you should not consider this otherwise. This kind of holiday rule was prevailing in my previous company, a manufacturer and the largest exporter of refractory.

They may request to work from home but not demand it. If you would like to participate or celebrate Dussehra, you can do so without any objection from our constitution. You may inform your boss about the required holiday as you would like to have it, similar to others. He may agree to the same.
