Eligibility for Government Job Scheme for Families of Deceased Bank Employees – Can We Apply?

Taufeeq ahmed
Hi sir, I'm Taufeeq Ahmed. My father was a bank employee at UCO Bank (a government bank). He held the clerk position since 1983 and passed away on January 16, 2005, due to natural causes. He had worked for almost 22 years. At the time of his passing, we, his family, were not adults—we are three brothers and my mother, aged 16, 14, and 12 in 2004. In India, the government abolished the rules regarding job opportunities for deceased bank employees in 2004. However, in August 2014, the NDA government passed a new regulation allowing the families of deceased employees to secure a job.

Sir, we would like to know if we are eligible for this scheme.

Dear Taufeeq,

I believe there are UCO Bank branches in Varanasi. It would be beneficial for you to visit a branch and seek guidance from the current employees, most of whom are likely members of the Bank Employees Union. They should be well-versed in the latest rules regarding compassionate ground appointments and can assist you effectively.
