Is Casual Leave Enough for a 5-Day Trip Abroad, or Do I Need Earned Leave?

For visiting abroad for a period of 5 days, is taking earned leave mandatory, or is casual leave enough?

In general, the commonly followed practice among companies is that casual leave is restricted to 2-3 days at a stretch, so earned leave will be ideal. Additionally, when an employee leaves the country, he should inform his employer officially before the travel period.

It is not clear whether you are a private or public employee. In public service, CL is considered a duty period, not time spent on leave. Therefore, if you are a government employee, it is advisable to avail EL.
