Facing Legal Threats Over a Fake Relieving Letter: How Can I Resolve This Mess?

vinodh-kumar-naidu
Hello, please help me out. I worked in an organization for 8 months and left the job for personal reasons. I received a relieving letter with the logo, signature, and all necessary details. I have been selected for a new job and have submitted all the required documents. However, I have not reported to or joined the new organization yet. They proceeded with verification through my previous company, and now they are demanding a significant amount of money, threatening legal action if I don't comply. I am feeling extremely confused and mentally distressed. Please suggest the best way for me to resolve this situation.

What compelled you to prepare a fake relieving letter? After 8 months of service, why didn't you get relieved properly? What you did is forgery. Please don't do this in the future. It would be better to inform your future employer that you don't have a relieving letter rather than presenting a false one.

Talk to your ex-employer and try to solve it amicably. If your ex-employer communicates to your new company about the fake certificate, you may not get that employment. Otherwise, I don't think the ex-employer will pursue this legally, even though they can. So try to resolve it, or else leave it.
