Navigating Professional Tax: Do We Need Separate Registration for Our Gujarat Branch?

Hi,

Our company's head office is in Maharashtra, and the branch office is in Gujarat. We are deducting Professional Tax for Gujarat employees as per Maharashtra's slab and filing returns in Maharashtra. Do we need to take PTRC Registration in Gujarat as well? Please suggest.

Hi,

Since the branch office operations are in Gujarat, professional tax should actually be paid to the Gujarat Corporation. The practice of paying in Mumbai is not correct.
