Do We Need an FSSAI License for Our In-House Canteen Serving 450 Employees?

I have a staff strength of 450 employees, and I also have a canteen facility, but it is not on a contract basis. We have our own staff to prepare food, and we don't charge any amount for providing food to employees. Should we have to take an FSSAI license? We are in the diamond manufacturing industry. Please suggest.

Yes, FSSAI License is required to run the canteen facility. The whole purpose of such stringent rules is that the FSSAI is aiming to reduce the problems associated with poor quality food being served to the customers/workers and ensure health and safety.
