Employee Rejoined After EPF Withdrawal: How to Resolve Contribution Issues?

Hi, this is Abhishek from the HR department. I want to know about the employee's date of joining issue. There is an employee who worked here from 2012 to 2016 and withdrew the EPF from his PF account. Then, he rejoined the same company after 3 months. The employer took his name on Form 12, but by mistake, the employer did not register him in EPF because the UAN numbers are the same. As a result, all his contributions were deposited in the old member ID. Now, he wants to withdraw an advance amount. He applied online, but his request was rejected by the EPFO office, stating it has already been settled. Please suggest what we should do.

One of our employees joined in 2013 and quit in 2016. He manually withdrew from his PF account. He rejoined in 2017, but his PF account was not activated at that time. The contributions were paid into the same account. Now, he has quit again, and we added his date of exit. He applied for PF, but his claim was rejected with the reason being that his claim was already settled. However, his passbook still shows remaining contributions.
