Salary Contributions: Can Employers Base Their Share on the Full 30k Basic?

If an employee is receiving a 30k basic salary, can the employer share their contribution based on the full basic amount, i.e., 30k?

The employer will have an obligation to contribute only to those drawing a salary of up to Rs. 15,000 only. Above this higher limit, it's only optional on the part of the employer. However, the employee can continue to contribute as a 'voluntary contribution' only.
