TDS and PF Deductions for Unskilled and Exempted Employees: What Are the Guidelines?

yugpatel
Hi Seniors,

Please help me with the following problems:

1) Is it possible to deduct TDS from unskilled employees' wages? Are there any guidelines for this?

2) Are there any guidelines stating that exempted employees have to pay PF even if their salary is more than a basic amount of 15000?

Thank you.

Exemption Conditions for Employees

Whether an employee falls under a tax slab or not is crucial for tax calculation; the employee category does not calculate. We may exempt an employee under the following conditions:

1. If the employee does not hold a PF membership previously and upon joining, their basic salary exceeds 15,000, then we may exempt them.
2. After withdrawing their full accumulated PF, if the basic salary is 15,000 upon joining, we may exempt them from filling Form 11 by the employee.

If your employee falls under any of the above conditions, you may exempt them.
