Facing PF Transfer Issues Due to Overlapping Employment Dates – How Can I Resolve This?

Hi All, unknowingly, I joined my current employer on 25 July 2018, whereas my exit date from the previous company was 02 August 2018. I was not aware that this would have a major impact on my PF amount transfer. Now, when I try to transfer the PF amount into the current account through the PF portal, it shows "Details are mismatched," hence I can neither transfer my previous amount into the current account nor withdraw it.

I have requested both employers to change the DOJ or DOE, but they said it is impossible to change at their end. Can anyone help me out in this matter? I worked for 4 years in the previous company, so the amount is not small. Please help or suggest if I can do this through the EPFO office or elsewhere.

Dear Friend,

In this case, your previous employer has to submit a request letter mentioning the wrongly updated exit date on their letterhead to EPFO.

Hi Ravi,

The previous employee has denied doing anything regarding the issue because, according to their records, they believe the mistake lies on my end. I joined my current employer before leaving there, and due to only a 9-day conflict, I am now facing this situation. Please guide me.

Dear Friend,

I recommend that you request your current employer to change your Date of Joining (DOJ). Please submit a request letter on their letterhead to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) specifying the DOJ change.

Hi Ravi,

I have requested both of them to update the Date of Joining (DOJ) or Date of Exit (DOE), but they have clearly denied. I am following up with EPFO through E-grievance, but I am not receiving a satisfactory response. In response to two grievances, they have stated that I need to update my DOE through my previous employer. What should I do now?

In this same problem here also, already an employee had an account number with a mistake in the Date of Joining (DOJ) and Date of Exit (DOE) being the same date. So, I created a new PF account number, and both DOJ and DOE were updated. However, there is no passbook available for this current account, so we couldn't transfer the amount from the last account. Now, I have corrected the DOJ and DOE in the old account through the PF office. But now, I am unable to claim the PF amount for this employee. What can we do? Can anyone help?
