New to HR in Restaurants: How Do I Handle Minimum Wage Changes in Payroll?

I am working as an HR in the Restaurants Industry and I am new to the same. I just want to understand the concept of changes in the minimum wages act as I am quite unaware of the same. If the Basic plus DA for the cleaner as per the minimum wages act is Basic: 10010 rs and VDA is 1785.60 rs, then how should I input the salary in the payroll?

Please kindly help me out on the same.

Hi Dinesh,

Your above statement is fine. As per minimum wages rate divided into zones - 1, 2, and 3, Bangalore is covered under zone - 1 for cleaners, with Basic - 10010 + VDA - 1785.60 = 11795.60.

Also, make sure to check if your industry falls under hotels/lodging and boarding/restaurants.
