Marriage Policy

After completion of one year of employment at Flexsin, employees come under the marriage leave policy. Regular, full-time employees are entitled to seven (7) days of Marriage Leave. Marriage Leave is applicable for the first legal marriage only and must be taken within six (6) months of the marriage date.

Employees are granted 7 days of paid leave upon prior approval from the management. An employee must apply for the leave as soon as possible once the marriage is confirmed. If the employee requires more than 15 days of leave, it is subject to management discretion and may result in Loss of Pay (LOP).

The marriage card should be submitted as proof to the HR department as soon as possible. Before going on leave, the employee should hand over all responsibilities to a colleague or team leader, whichever is feasible.

After marriage, if the employee requires additional leave for activities such as a honeymoon or other functions, these days off will need to be taken from Casual Leave or Earned Leave or may result in LOP.

There is no specific format for this policy. You can introduce it as an internal circulation within the company. You have already outlined all the points, so just put them in bullet form.

- You may mention the marriage gift (cheque, etc.) typically given by management to the concerned employee, if applicable. Additionally, I recommend implementing this rule to complement the policy or balance its effects. Usually, the gift amount is the same for all grades, and the cheque is presented to the employee on their marriage day by HR.

- Your policy should clearly state the effective date. You can post it on the notice board initially and then include it in your HR Policy docket.
