Is My Employer Manipulating Salary Figures? Seeking Advice on Salary Structure Mismatch in Punjab

dalip-kumar1
Dear All, I have joined a company in the Punjab area since February 2019. So far, I have received two salary payments totaling Rs. 15,000. However, I am yet to receive an appointment letter (including salary structure) from the employer as only the offer letter was provided during the interview. During the interview, the employer had agreed to a Rs. 15,000 in-hand salary plus compliance benefits such as PF, ESI, LWF, etc. However, upon receiving my PF and ESI contributions in the following month, I discovered that my salary on the compliance sheet shows a Gross amount of Rs. 6,750 and a Net Salary of Rs. 10,788.

My concern is that even though I am working in the Punjab area, my Basic salary is listed as Rs. 6,750, which is the minimum wage for Himachal Pradesh. Furthermore, my in-hand salary is Rs. 15,000. I am questioning why the employer has prepared a false salary sheet for compliance purposes. Is it possible that the employer is manipulating the salary figures to show different amounts to employees and government bodies in order to reduce statutory costs? I would appreciate your advice on how to address this situation. Thank you.
