Former Employee Demands Experience Letter After Absconding: How Should We Respond?

krish-n
One of our ex-employees worked with us for 4 months in 2014 and left the organization without notice. After follow-up, he said he was unwell and unable to rejoin us, and then he never communicated back.

Now, in 2019, he messaged us to provide him with a work experience letter for the 4 months he served with us because his current employer is requesting the same. However, this is an absconding case. What needs to be done here, as he is reaching out to us after 4 years and didn't serve the notice period or resign properly?

Additionally, he is making legal threats over the phone.

Please advise on how to proceed in this situation. Thank you.

Dear,

If you have not initiated any legal action against him so far, please issue the experience certificate to avoid any legal consequences. As per the given information, he has worked more than 90 days with your organization.

Thanks,

What if he served less than 90 days?

---

Hi,

Thank you for your question. In response to your inquiry about the duration of service, if he served less than 90 days, certain implications may arise depending on the context. It is important to consider the specific circumstances and regulations in place to determine the consequences of serving less than the stipulated 90 days.

Please feel free to provide more details or context for a more tailored response.
