Facing Job Relocation: Can We Seek Compensation or Legal Action for Termination?

rakesh-p-r
Our company is closing our current working process. They are transferring us to another process in another state, and we are not interested in going to that process. If there is any compensation we will receive after the closing of the process we are currently working in, or if we face termination due to this issue, can we file a case against the company?

Dear Anonymous,

As understood from your message, your company is not declaring closure; they are merely transferring you. The company has the right to transfer its employees unless there is any specific agreement or terms of appointment. In this case, there is no legal provision for any type of compensation.

But the company recruited us for the Rebel process, and now the process is closed. The company decided to change the process at Flipkart without employees' confirmation. We are not interested in joining the Flipkart process.

The employee receives compensation when an establishment closes or lays off employees. In your situation, you will not be eligible for any compensation as you have been provided with employment through a transfer.
