Dear Devyani,
You have just mentioned the gross monthly salary only and no break up figures about the allowances. As per sec. 2(21) of the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 basic and dearness allowance have only to be taken into account for bonus calculation and all other allowances have to be left out. In the case of salary being a consolidated amount, the entire amount has to be taken.
