Former Employee Changed EPFO Password and Disappeared: How Can We Regain Access?

shakthi.power@gmail.com
Dear Seniors, I am writing to inform you that our employee, who was working as an Assistant Manager in the Accounts department, has changed the employer password on the EPFO website without informing the management or HR department. Unfortunately, this individual has since resigned and is now unreachable as their phone is switched off. Our attempts to trace him have been unsuccessful.

When the HR department visited his residence, neighbors informed us that he had vacated the house. Upon further inquiry with other members of the accounts department, it came to light that management had previously warned him for misbehaving with coworkers. It is suspected that this behavior may have led him to engage in such illegal activities.

The individual in question was responsible for managing the statutory benefits of the company, and his mobile number is registered on the PF site. As a result, we are unable to use the "forgot password" feature as the OTP required for resetting the password would be sent to his mobile number.

We urgently need to make KYC updates and record the date of leaving for ex-employees on the EPFO website. Therefore, we seek your guidance on how to reset the password and regain access to the company's EPFO site.

Your prompt assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Shakthi,

You have to prepare a formal letter addressed to your RPFC, duly signed by your owner/authorized signatory, explaining the position and requesting them to create a new User ID & PW, Contact Mobile Number, email ID, etc. They'll verify and make arrangements. Nothing to worry.
