Is It Okay to Ask My Employer to Skip PF Deductions for the First 6 Months?

Hi Sir,

I recently joined a consulting firm where the employer is registered with the PF establishment, but they are not deducting PF from my salary. They mentioned that they will not deduct PF for the first 6 months, and after that period, they will start deducting it from my salary. I have a question: is PF deduction mandatory or optional? Can we inform our employer not to deduct PF? Please suggest.
