Worried About Negative Background Check After Suing My Old Employer – Should I Withdraw My Complaint?

I had lodged a complaint against my previous company in the Labour Court for withholding my wages and forcing me to resign. I have now been selected by another company, and I am due to start this week. I am concerned that my previous employer may not provide me with my BCG clearance. Some people have suggested that I withdraw my complaint and then request BCG clearance from my employer.

I seek your advice on this matter. Does the employer have the right to give negative feedback in the BCG, even though during my time there, there were no complaints about my work or behavior?

It's nearly impossible to read and have access to the information provided on BGC by a parent company. You may withdraw the complaint from the court if it really helps, but no one could guarantee that the previous company would provide a good report for a BGC even after that. You may have to take chances only. Be positive as you said you had a 'good' track record with them.
