Confused About My Resignation: How Can I Get My Relieving Letter from the Bank?

vivek-kumar1
Dear Sir/Madam,

I submitted my resignation on 29th Nov 2018, with the exit date set for 15th Jan 2019. I received an acceptance email on the evening of the 15th, which did not mention my bond amount. Subsequently, on 17th Jan, I received an email that clarified all details. I settled all dues, including the amount and the bank asset. Additionally, I have not been attending the office since the 16th of Jan.

Despite several emails requesting a relieving letter, the bank only responded on 4th February, stating, "In order to be relieved, you must be present on 5th Feb. If you are not present on the 5th, your resignation will be canceled, and you will need to submit a fresh resignation, with formalities starting from the first step."

On 4th Feb, I was far away from the branch and discussed my status with HR. However, I was informed that my resignation had been canceled and that my bond amount would be credited to my account. What should I do now?

Thank you.

Hi, I think they are stretching it too far. Have you joined any other firm after the exit? Is a relieving letter not crucial for regularization? Have you not closed your bank account with them? You should have collected the relieving letter in the first instance before leaving; that would have been wise. Yes, you missed it. Now, if it's very crucial for your future, try to patch up and collect the relieving letter and try to convince them not to escalate the issue. Make a visit and finalize all pending issues in one go.
