EPF Nomination Confusion: Can I Nominate My Spouse and Two Kids in Form No. 2?

For EPF Nomination in (Form No.2), how many persons are eligible for Nomination? Can I nominate three persons like (spouse & two children)? Is it right, or only two members are eligible?

A member can have more than one nominee. If a person has two nominees, he or she can also fix the proportion of funds for each candidate.

While nominating a minor, the guardian of the minor should be a family member. If there is no major family member, the guardian can be anyone.

As per your query, if any person who is married, his wife is considered as a nominee. But if she remarries, then she is not entitled to receive the gratuity amount. In this case, parents are the legal nominees.

The share of gratuity is mentioned in the form that the concerned employee fills out at the time of joining. The percentage of the share is also indicated in this form. If the nominee is one person, then he/she will be entitled to 100% of the gratuity. If there are two nominees, then equal portions will be given.
