Understanding PF Contributions: Are My Calculations for Rs. 30,000 Salary Correct?

karthi-sabari
Dear Expert,

I need clarification about PF contributions for both the employee and employer shares of Rs. 30,000 (Gross Salary). Here, I have provided my calculations; kindly explain whether they are correct or not.

For Example, Total employees in our company: 35
Basis Total - Non-PF 13,000 + PF 5,000 + HRA 6,000 + All allowances 6,000 = Rs. 30,000
EPF 12% @ 5,000 = Rs. 600 (Employee contribution)
Net salary Rs. 29,400 (Please confirm if this is correct, or if not, kindly explain to me).

Regards,
Karthi

Dear Karthi,

PF is deducted on the basic salary, not on the gross salary. The current limit is Rs. 25,000.

With Regards,
Sunil
