Navigating PF and Pension Form Submission After an Employee's Passing: What Do I Need?

PF Withdrawal and Pension Forms for Deceased Employee

An employee who had been working with our organization for 8 years had been on medical leave for the last 3 years. He recently passed away (on 19.08.2018). As such, he had not been contributing to his PF.

Please suggest which form needs to be filled out for PF withdrawal. I am also looking for information regarding Form 20 and Pension (Form 10D), as well as the procedure related to form submission. Which documents need to be provided by EPFO and ESIC related to pension and PF amount withdrawal?

Please suggest which forms have to be submitted and which documents have to be attached to these forms.

Few more inputs are required. Was he continued in EPF ECR as NCP days? And was ESIC continued with "0" days until his death? If yes, then there are many benefits under EDLI also.

Dear U.S. Sharma Ji,

ESIC continued with "0" days until his death, but EPF ECR was not continued. Is there any option for the EDLI scheme?

Dear Dinesh,

If the employee was absent on medical grounds, then ECR must be within NCP days. However, if the exit is backdated, EDLI claim filing becomes challenging. Visit the PRO of EPF to reconcile their records. If they find the employee is still employed, only then will they accept the EDLI claim.
