Hi all, I need your suggestions here. I received an offer from TCS in December 2018. I am currently working with IBM (serving notice period), and before that, I was working in a small firm of 10-15 employees from August 2012 to December 2014. The company closed in November 2018. During the recruitment process at TCS, I clearly stated to HR that my previous company had closed, and if necessary, they could remove my prior company experience as I was already eligible for the interview based on my IBM work experience. I had received an offer based on my IBM work experience only. At that time, HR mentioned that a relieving letter would be sufficient from the previous company.
Later, TCS contacted me and requested proof of the closure of the company. I provided the following documents:
- Relieving/Experience letter (Provided)
- Bank statements of the last 3 months (Provided for 5 months)
- Company owner's acknowledgement email for working tenure (Provided)
- Phone communication with the company owner for the working tenure (Completed)
- Personal physical verification of the company address (Done; the caretaker of the building confirmed the company was operational until October 2018)
- Company URL [http://www.xxyyzz.com](http://www.xxyyzz.com) still active on Google
Now, TCS is asking for bank statements for the entire tenure from 2012 to 2014. I revisited the bank, and they stated that they could only provide statements from 2013 onwards, as data before that is archived and inaccessible unless there is involvement of criminal activity or police intervention. Initially, salaries were given in envelopes, and later, they were deposited directly into accounts.
TCS now insists on the full statement and threatens to cancel my candidature if not provided. Please advise on the best course of action in this situation.
Thank you.
