Sudden Loss at Work: What Benefits Can Dependents Claim from EPF, EDLI, and ESI?

Dear Friends,

One person joined and worked for only three months, earning wages of Rs. 300 per day, totaling Rs. 7800 per month. The employer deducted EPF and ESI from his wages. Unexpectedly, he passed away while at work in the factory. What benefits can his dependents claim from EPF Pension, EDLI, and ESI death benefits?

Please kindly clarify and provide the calculations for the same.

If contribution is remitted with both departments, then his family is entitled to claim the EDLI benefit. Under ESIC, his family is eligible to claim funeral expenses.
