My neighbor, who resigned citing health reasons, unfortunately passed away 2 months after resigning. He had nominated his wife for the PF. Please advise on the next steps she needs to take to claim the PF.

Steps to Claim PF After the Death of an Employee

Visit the employer and seek his help. Visit the nearest EPF office with his UAN number and seek assistance. Forms to be filled out and documents needed include:

- EPF Composite Form
- Death Certificate
- Joint photograph of claimants
- Date of Birth certificate of children claiming pension
- Copy of cancelled cheque or attested copy of the first page of the bank passbook

Speak to the employer with whom he last worked, and he will assist; otherwise, contact the nearby EPF commissioner's office with the aforementioned details. EPS Scheme certificate.
