Compensating a working day on a weekly off/holiday - compensatory off or monetary compensations?

Hi, We are an mechanical engineering company based in Pune, Maharashtra. A couple of our employees have been recently deployed at site (construction) where they are required to work for 6 days in a week whereas we are a 5 days working company.
Their deployments are mid to long term. We are now required to provide some compensation for their Saturday/Sunday/Holiday workings. We are thinking of either giving them compensatory offs (as per our office policy comp offs cannot be encashed or carried forward to next year) or giving them monetary compensations for those additional days. Requesting your suggestions on the probable options.

Dear Neil,
Any work arrangement crossing 9/48 hours PD/PW respectively, ranks for overtime.
For working on weekly off days/ paid holidays, it is better to give compensatory off rather than monetary compensation.
