Type of Bank account for EPF Pension - Does this have to be a single holder account or can it be jointly held?

I understand that I have to open a bank account in designated banks to receive a pension. Does this have to be a single holder account or can it be jointly held with the spouse? If single holder, then do I have to provide single holder account details for the spouse separately?

EPF needs the bank account in the name of the member only. The spouse's account is not requested anywhere. However, in the case of the member's death, they ask for the nominee's account, which is to be submitted at the time of the claim only.
