Tackling Absenteeism in BPO: How Do You Handle Late Arrivals and Last-Minute Leaves?

I work for a BPO, and there are a lot of people who come late to the office or take half-day leave from the office and inform us half an hour before. What strict action can I take against the same?

Discipline is core to any business productivity. Maintain a record of employees who arrive late more than three times a month and deduct one day's leave. If there is no leave balance, then deduct a loss of pay. Apply the same policy for early departures. This policy should be approved by your BPO Management, and a circular should be issued to employees before implementation. Employees may only leave at short notice in cases of medical emergencies or death.
