Stuck Without Pay in a Startup: Can I Resign and Still Get My Salary?

Since I am working in a private sector startup company for 4 months and still they haven't paid me any salary amount. When I ask for my salary, is it possible for me to immediately resign and how will I get my salary amount? Can you please help me out with some ideas to retrieve my salary amount.
