Is it compulsory to attest Form 13 by Pesent and Previous both Employer

S P Sharma
Respected Sir/Ma'am,

Please suggest, is it mandatory to attest Form 13 from both the present and previous employer? In my friend's PF passbook, 2 member IDs are shown - the previous PF ID and the present one. If Form 13 is filled, will it be possible to transfer the amount to the present ID?

Dear Sharma,

Yes, it is possible to transfer online through your login portal. If not, you can transfer offline without requiring both employers to sign Form-13.

I have tried online but there is an error: "No previous employment details found against this UAN."

Dear Mr. Sharma,

I kindly request you to ask your previous employer to update the "date of exit" on the EPFO portal to match your records and contribution details. Once this is done, you will be able to see the option to transfer your funds from your previous employment to your current employer.

Thank you.

Previous employer is not ready to update Date of Exit. That's why I am applying for the offline process. However, there is one query for offline PF transfer: if the Form is attested by the Present Employer and sent to the Regional PF Office, then is the transfer possible or should it be returned for Previous Employer Attestation? Please reply.

Dear Mr. Sharma, you can check the service details of both the employers by logging in to the UAN portal. If the Date of Exit (DOE) of the previous employer is empty (NA), then contact the previous employer to update the DOE. Only then can you transfer online.

Dear Sharma,

If you are done by your present employer, then there is no problem. They will submit in the PF office, and after that, your PF amount will be transferred from the previous company to the present one. There is no need to contact your previous company.

Thank you.

Dear Sharma,

No problem. Fill out Form 13, getting authentication from your present employer's authorized person, and submit it to your current relevant PF office. Alternatively, you can write an email to the PF commissioner explaining your issue and your intention, with a CC to the current PF commissioner and your previous company as well.
