Pregnant and Pressured to Resign: What Are My Legal Rights and Next Steps?

Hi all, I am working with a US-based MNC in Bangalore as a Manager - BD for 1.5 years (joined on 12th July 2017). Recently, I found out that I am pregnant. I informed my reporting manager and HR head. Since then, they have been discussing my performance, which they claim has not been good for the past 2-3 months. However, no official email has been sent to me regarding my poor performance. I have sent them an official email stating my pregnancy details.

Now, my reporting manager called me for a meeting and asked if I would go on early maternity leave and rest at home, to which I declined and said I am alright to come to the office and work.

Then, after a few days, my HR head called me and said that my performance has not been good, and now that I am pregnant, I will not be able to perform better. She asked me to resign and leave, offering to pay me 6 months of maternity leave. She is pressuring me to do so.

What is the legal remedy for this? I don't want to lose my job. Kindly help me with what I should do in this situation.

This certificate should attest to your pregnancy and include the date of confinement. Accompany this with a forwarding application, letter, written note, or memo.

Seek an appointment with the head of the establishment to present your case for the grant of maternity benefits. Ensure you inform the HR head and your controlling officer or supervisor about this meeting. Depending on the outcome, make it clear that you will not forgo your claim under the laws of the land, as "Injustice Anywhere is a Threat to Justice Everywhere."

@kritarth Consulting, thank you for your suggestion. I would also like to understand if my company can force me to resign or terminate me during my pregnancy citing poor performance as a reason. I am in huge mental disturbance for the same. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!
