Understanding PMRPY Scheme: Why Do Some Employees Miss Out on Waivers and How Do Increments Affect Coverage?

maxdigi-hr
I am working as an HR in an IT company. From April 2018, we increased our employee number to more than 20, and hence we registered our company for PF. We have also applied for the PMRPY Scheme for eligible employees. When we received the waiver details, we noticed that some of our employees received waivers in one month but not in the next month, even when there have not been any changes in their salaries or such. I wanted to understand what could have been the reason for the same and what the rule is for this situation.

Another question about PMRPY Scheme

What if we give the employee an increment but within the PMRPY limit? Would it still be covered under this scheme?

Kindly help!

Employees who joined after April 2016 and got enrolled with PF for the first time with a salary less than 15,000/- are eligible for the PF's PMRPY Scheme.

Hello all,

May I please know the PMRPY eligibility of the employee? Their salary (Gross salary) should be below 15,000/- or the Basic salary + DA of the employee should be below 15k. Do we have to consider their basic + DA or the total Gross monthly salary?

Please help with the necessary information.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Aniket Pathak,

I understand the point you mentioned. I wanted to know, what if this certain employee gets an increment? For example, someone joined us as a fresher with a salary of 8,000. If after a few months we give this employee an increment to 12,000/-, would he still be covered under PMRPY?

Unless the gross pay exceeds 15,000/- per month, the PMRPY benefit will continue.

If Gross/EPF wages are greater than 15,000/-, then the employee will be excluded from the benefits.
