Confused About Including Electrical Conversion in Machinery List for Factory License? Let's Clarify!

sujatha-r
There is always confusion about whether electrical conversion has to be included in the list of machinery when applying for a factory license. Therefore, I need clarification on machinery list submission as per the Factories Act.

HP calculation is done by the factory manager by calculating the total power used by machinery. Otherwise, look at the electric bill, and you will find that:
- 800 Watt = 1 HP
- 1000 Watt = 1 KW

Machinery List for Factory License

You need to provide the complete list of machinery installed or under installation in a factory. Every manual of the machinery provides complete technical details, including the horsepower of the machine. There is no common list of machinery applicable to all factories, plants, or units. As you know, the machinery to be used depends on the nature of the product, size, capacity, process, extent of automation, handling requirements, logistics support, etc. Therefore, ask your plant head to fill out these forms and annexures as may be required. This should include electrical, waste/effluent treatment, disposal, safety equipment, etc.

Electrical Conversion in the Process

Can you also elaborate on what sort of 'electrical conversion' is taking place in your process at the plant?
