PF registration was not done when he joined so we paid his arrear last month - not reflecting in employee passbook

We have an ex employee whose PF registration was not done when he joined so we paid his arrear last month after he asked for.But the issue is it is not reflecting in his PF passbook. Please suggest any solution. Employee joined in NOV 2017 and we paid the arrear amount in August 2018.
