ESI Corporation's New Eligibility Conditions for Super Specialty Treatment

ESI Corporation has approved the proposal for relaxing the eligibility conditions for availing Super Specialty treatment. It has now been relaxed from earlier insurable employment of 2 years to 6 months with a contribution requirement of only 78 days. Besides, the eligibility for availing Super Specialty treatment for dependents of the Insured Person has also been relaxed to insurable employment of 1 year with 156 days of contributions. Dear Sir,

Currently, there is no tie-up center for secondary treatment under SD-Coochbehar Dispensary. As a result, beneficiaries are unable to access their medical benefits under the scheme. Do they receive medical expenses from ESIC, and what is the procedure to do so?

With regards,
Indranil Bhattacharya
